What is Paintball?

Paintball is a modern day version of childhood games "hide & seek" and "capture the flag" only with a complicated twist. Players use "markers" (paintball guns) to fire small gelatin capsules at the other team in hopes of eliminating them from the game. The game is won by successfully elimiating the other team. Many different variations can be played, but the most popular are "basic elimination" where you seek to eliminate the other teams player's; and "capture the flag" where you must capture the flag and transport it to your opponents starting station. Through modern studies by various groups, paintball has been found to be a safer sport than golf, tennis, swimming and many other sports. Paintball also allows individuals to work together as a team, and can be used as a corporate team building activity as well. Organizations such as fire and police departments, church youth groups, as well as the LA Lakers basketball team have used aintball as a valuable team bulding technique.

What is a Paintball?

A paintball is a small .68 caliber gelatin ball that is filled with cornstarch, food coloring and mineral oil. The paintball is bio-degradable and non toxic. The coloring found in the paintball is water soluble and will wash out of clothing.

Who can play?

Almost anyone can play paintball. Paintball is enjoyed by many different people all over the world, ranging from doctors, lawyers, mothers, teenagers and even celebrities. According to the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, just under 10 million people played paintball in 2004, ranking it just below Inline Skating and Skateboarding in popularity. One of the few requirements to play paintball is that you must be at least 10 years of age.

What Should I Wear?

Paintball is a physical activity that is played in a variety of locations and settings. you should plan to wear clothes that you can get dirty, as well as that will hold up during use. you should wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt, with two (2) layers being optimal (you can shed layers thoughout the day if you so choose). A backwards baseball cap or stocking cap is suggested to cover your head, and some people choose to wear a pair of gloves to cover their hands. You will want to wear some form of running shoes that are comfortable for wearing all day long. All other necessary safety equipment will be provided for you at the paintball facility.
