noun explanation

Wide-angle lens

The wide-angle lens has a short focal length, a wide viewing angle, and a deep depth of field.

Telephoto lens

The distortion in the perspective of the portrait is smaller, and the portrait is more vivid. Therefore, people often call the telephoto lens a portrait lens, which is often used for professional photography.

Fixed focus lens

Especially refers to a lens with only a fixed focal length, only a focal length, or a field of view. The biggest benefit is the fast focusing speed and stable imaging quality.

Zoom lens

A zoom lens is a camera lens that can change the focal length within a certain range to obtain different angles of view, different sizes of images, and different ranges of scenes.

aperture

Aperture is a device used to control the amount of light that passes through the lens and enters the photosensitive surface in the body. It is usually inside the lens. The aperture size is expressed by the F value. Aperture F value = the focal length of the lens / the square of the diameter of the lens aperture.

focal length

The imaging distance of a lens is determined by the distance between the lens and the imaging surface. We usually say 60mm, 18mm, 200mm, which means the distance from the center of the lens to the film (or digital sensing surface). This distance is called the focal length.

Depth of field

When the lens focuses on an object, it takes the object as the center and a certain distance from the front to the back belongs to the depth of field. That is to say, not only this object is clear, but also some of it is clear within the back and forth distance. The larger the aperture, the longer the depth of field.

Perspective

Indicates the range of scenes that can be captured. Its size depends on the focal length of the lens (mm) and the size of the image sensor. Wide-angle lenses have a wider viewing angle, while telephoto lenses have a narrower viewing angle.

Shutter speed

The shutter controls how long the light can hit the image sensor. The shutter speed, together with the aperture that controls the amount of light, controls the total amount of light received by the image sensor.
